meet ariel

Ariel makes art to organize and restructure her surroundings in a charming and thoughtful way.

Her goal is to enable the viewer to invent their own narrative, which may or may not reflect her original intentions. Her interconnected relationship with humans and animals allows her access to a perspective full of empathy and imagination. Ariel utilizes the structured yet random process of printmaking to escape from the chaos and reality of the world, while simultaneously creating her own curated version of it.

Growing up in Knoxville, Tennessee with a family full of artists, Ariel was encouraged to pursue her passion for art from a young age.

From entering elementary school art competitions, to designing her Bat Mitzvah invitations, to taking AP Studio Art in high school, she was determined to turn her passion into a career. She went on to receive her BFA in Printmaking in 2015 from the University of Connecticut, with minors in Art History and Digital Art. In 2017, she received her MA in Art Education from the University of Texas at Austin.

Ariel currently resides in Austin, texas.

Ariel is the Art School Registration Coordinator at The Contemporary Austin, and aims to make art-making accessible to folks of all ages and backgrounds in the Austin area. As an Art School Faculty member, she teaches kids and adults classes from ages 4 to adult. Ariel makes prints in her home studio, where she has a small printing press. For fun, she enjoys finding water to stay cool in the Austin heat, keeping up with her art book club, camping and hiking throughout California and Texas, and traveling the world (baby steps), while eating good food along the way.
